Bioclimatic Tower

The Bioclimatic Tower is a unique conceptual design developed by Archetype Group. The tower was designed in scope of the Islamic world and lifestyle with the external lattices structure created as a giant ‘Moucharabiehs’ (shade screens for all openings) and prominent arches, making doors between the sea and the earth. The arches are a major element of Islamic architecture, developed in many different ways for many different functions. The upper connections to join the towers are to be curved to provide multiple points of view, and are therefore suspended in space. The podium is formed in the negative (large ground level open gap), where all functions take place around a fractured-ellipsis. This provides transparency at the base of the towers and forms part of the passive cooling system.
