Cat Lai Residential Complex

This unique, high end market, residential complex located in Eastern Ho Chi Minh City, has panoramic views of the ‘Song Gong’ river, and aims to provide a new way of life through integrating sustainable development features. This includes climatic factors of a tropical country and the actual climatic problems (global warming, discharge of gas, energy consumption). In keeping with the sustainable development features the architects have designed naturally insulated green roofs, to protect against the heat and a natural ventilation air conditioning system. Local and natural materials such as bamboo and terracotta were also used to reduce transportation, deforestation and gas discharge. The architects have worked on a ‘less is more’ minimalist approach allowing the vivid color and diversity of the surrounding greenery to spring to life against the white design. The greenery is a major part of the design concept included in the roofs, private gardens, landscaping, walking areas and planted terraces.
