The Continental is of great historic importance. The project aims to restore the existing building and provide a new wing of modern hotel facilities. The restoration will be undertaken with the goal of returning the building to its original splendor whilst upgrading room facilities and servicing. The central courtyard, a favorite feature, will be re-established with covered and open al-fresco seating. The new wing is 9-storeys high, providing 79 new rooms to the hotel. The new building is styled to complement the existing, with simpler details. The rooms will be modernized in all aspects and include conference facilities.
