The Hanoi Academy School campus was developed by two design philosophies ‘confidence’ and ‘real life’. The confidence relates to breaking through the standard design and construction norm by the use of life cycle building materials. This reduces the maintenance costs and provides the specifications to create a natural comfortable learning environment. Real life is the realisation that students and teachers occupy the learning spaces where futures are molded and characters built. The project was developed based on the following basic parameters:
- Establish safe access to all users of the campus;
- Minimise the impact on local residents and traffic;
- Create a safe campus by maintaining a secure environment;
- Use of modern and contemporary materials;
- Reduce energy required by using the building site to create structures which use the natural breeze and light;
- Develop the campus as a place of excellence through the design of the external facades, learning spaces, sport and art facilities and venues.
