Location : Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam
Service : Design Support Services
Facility : Hotel & Offices
Size: 135,500 m²
This impressive looking building was developed as part of a design competition for Ho Chi Minh City’s International Trade Center and sees the collaboration between Fosters & Partners, as Architect, and Archetype Vietnam, as Associated Architect. The proposal comprises two main elements including the podium and the towers above podium level. The outside of the podium is designed to relate to the existing city streets, the inside will have a calmer, cleaner aesthetic feel, planning to have both busy and quiet areas. In the preferred scheme, the curved towers step up towards the high buildings at one end of the site and down towards the city square. The curves of the building will dramatically affect the appearance of the towers as people move around the city, catching the light in more dynamic ways. Internally the curves results in efficient planning making it easier to plan attractive hotel rooms and make possible offices with views out on three sides.
