The concept design for Pokhara Hotel, Nepal’s Shangri-La Hotel, is to be the most luxurious resort out of town. An exclusive location 15 kms from Pokhara in a protected area on the Hymalaya range, the Machupichre summit, will provide a breath taking view (image displayed in bottom right hand corner). The concept is a Nepalese village of 45 guest suites scattered on the hill and circling the general services of the hotel. The resort is designed to be self sufficient based on technical devices that will ensure environmental protection, energy saving and no pollution. With an extensive use of secham wood, bricks and tiles, the architecture reflects the Nepalese culture. Together with large pitched roofs in Nepalese style, the whole complex depicts a local village.
