Saigon Pearl is today’s most challenging high-rise apartment building project in Vietnam, with Archetype’s scope comprising 1184 apartments in four 37 storey towers, including a 2 storey retail podium as well as an underground car park. From an architectural concept by Ronald Lu Partners (Hong Kong), Archetype Group was awarded the architectural and structural preliminary and detail design contract for ‘phase 2’, which includes 4 of the planned 6 apartment towers. In extremely soft soil conditions, Archetype was able to provide state-of-the-art and cost effective bored piling and superstructure design, managing to comply with both local and British Standards requirements, including increased anti seismic requirements. Archetype Group was also given opportunities to carry out value engineering at different design stages, which resulted in substantial savings in both structural and architectural works.
