Indian Hotels, owner of the TAJ brand, which has significant presence in the luxury, leisure and business segments of the market, is planning to expand its presence in the mid-tier segment. The 4 star hotel, nominally called a ‘Gateway Hotel’ will set up a New Hospitality Industry Product in approximately 10 cities across India in stage one. TAJ, as hotel operator, is acting as technical coordinator for all projects to ensure that all hotels adhere to a single design and quality brief. The Calcutta hotel will feature two basement levels and 6 guest room floors. The public areas will include banquet facilities, all-day dining restaurant, business centre, swimming pool and gym facilities.
