Yangon Excelsior Hotel Honored in Myanmar National Real Estate Awards
In its first year ever, the Myanmar National Real Estate Awards, hosted by Shwe Property, has risen to become one of the largest and most recognized property awards platforms in the country, receiving over 120+ applications from across the nation in both commercial and residential projects, with 46 winners, in 20 awards categories.
Among them, the Yangon Excelsior Hotel had brought home the Silver medal for Best Heritage Restoration Project. The project was developed by our long-time partner and client - Apple Tree, who was honored to have won the Best Developer of the year.
Yangon Excelsior Hotel was a very near and dear project to Archetype Myanmar, as we were deeply involved in this epic transformation from a protected heritage building into a stunning boutique hotel, with a special touch on history and class. We were first assigned to conduct a feasibility study for the hotel, and then later on awarded the architecture, engineering and project and construction management services.
Officially opened its door mid-2018, Yangon Excelsior Hotel has already claimed a spot in traveler’s heart when the reputable lifestyle magazine Conde Nast announced its readers’ choice list 2019, in which the hotel ranks 16th.
It is also worth noting that just a couple of months earlier, the hotel received the prestigious Yangon Heritage Trust, Blue Plaque in recognition of the building’s rich history and special role in Yangon's heritage. It is the 33rd site to be honored with a Blue Plaque, which serves as a marker of historical significance, linking a location with a famous person, event, or landmark, and celebrates Yangon’s rich history.
In this ceremony, Yedagon Taung City showroom project, for which we provided architecture, engineering and interior design services, won the silver medal for Best Modern Architecture.
