Can you please introduce GRAPHENATON Technologies and the inspiration behind its inception? What motivated you to explore the potential of Graphene in particular?
In 2020, GRAPHENATON Technologies recognised the inadequacies of existing solutions and had the foresight to develop a technology that combines printed electronics with new materials, aiming to provide solutions that support the energy transition.
Graphene stood out due to its remarkable mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties, which were acknowledged by the Nobel Prize awarded in 2010. The challenge then, and still today, is its industrialisation.
GRAPHENATON Technologies’ technological innovation lies in using graphene in the form of inks and applying them through printing on polymer substrates. This process not only ensures the performance of graphene but also integrates it into industrial frameworks, something that no one else has achieved yet.
Can you elaborate on the innovative solutions that GRAPHENATON Technologies offers, especially in terms of combining printed electronics and 2D materials? How do these solutions differ from existing technologies in the market?
When everybody is digging for gold, it’s good to be in the pick and shovel business. By providing its innovative technology, GRAPHENATON Technologies makes the energy transition more efficient.
We develop solutions dedicated to housing, mobility, and energy production. Specifically:
Firstly, an innovative heating system based on new technology, more economical and less energy-consuming than current systems. The benefits are measured in money saved, increased comfort, and reduced CO2 emissions.
Secondly, electric-assist bicycles that eliminate the need for batteries and their recharging constraints while offering equivalent comfort.
Thirdly, innovative photovoltaic films that are silicon-free, lightweight, and flexible, allowing for a new approach to implementing photovoltaic production systems.
Graphene has been hailed as a revolutionary material since its discovery in 2004. In your opinion, what unique properties of Graphene make it a game-changer for the construction industry? Could you provide some examples of its applications?
