World Architecture Day 2026: Taking Architecture from Design to Delivery
“Housing is a Human Right. Build It.” is the theme of World Architecture Day 2026, chosen by the International Union of Architects (UIA). The UIA created the day in 1985 and observes it on the first Monday of October, which falls on 5 October this year.
What World Architecture Day stands for
World Architecture Day marks the responsibility of architects to create viable community life. This year’s theme extends that responsibility past design to delivery.
The responsibility behind every Archetype Group project
At Archetype Group, that responsibility guides every project. Architecture and master planning work alongside engineering and project expertise across hospitality and industrial sectors. The group has delivered more than 1,500 projects in 50 countries.
150+ architects, 21 consecutive years in the WA100
The group’s 150+ architects are behind the quality and creativity of this work. Their projects place Archetype Group 67th in the WA100 2026, the group’s 21st consecutive year on the list.
archetype _y: the signature studio behind our architectural identity
archetype _y, our integrated architecture signature studio led by Mark Petrovic, drives the group’s architectural identity and puts the purpose of the day into practice through design.
The studio’s architects, designers and creatives develop bespoke places rooted in their surroundings, culture and purpose. Each project balances aesthetics, functionality, innovation and sustainability from concept to execution.
Building today, shaping a sustainable tomorrow
That is how we mark World Architecture Day: we build today while shaping a sustainable tomorrow.
